The difference between solar cable and solar wire

Solar cable and solar wire are an important part of solar power generation system. They are used to deliver electricity generated by solar systems to where they are needed. It is not easy to transmit electricity from the source to the role of other electrical components. This means that the quality and characteristics of the cables and wires used are a key aspect. For the effectiveness of a solar power system, various solar cable and solar wire specifications must be considered. While cables and wires have similar functions, there are significant differences between the two.

Solar wire

Solar wires are a single conductor of electricity. They are smaller in diameter than solar cables. Solar wires are usually made of copper or aluminum because both materials are good electrical conductors and are malleable and highly elastic. There are two main categories of solar wires:

1、Solid (single) solar wire

Such solar wires are single electrical conductors. This means it can be exposed or protected with insulation using a sheath. This type of solar wire is used for static applications, such as home applications. Such applications can also include wire (the kind that sticks inside). These wires cost less compared to other types of wires. The diameter is smaller and the carrying capacity is similar to that of twisted wires.

2、bunch wire

This type of wire has several strands of thin wires that are twisted together to form a single-core wire. This type of wire is suitable for areas with frequent movement and constant vibration. This type of wire is also more direct for routes with larger diameters. They also cost more.

Solar cable

Solar power cables are characterized by two or more insulated high-altitude wires that are concentrated in a sheath. It may contain different numbers of conductors, as well as different diameter ranges of the number of conductors. There are different categories of cables depending on the wire and specifications. The different types of solar cables are:

1、Photovoltaic DC cable

Main DC cable:These are special extension cables used to connect the positive and negative cables from the string to the generator.

Module DC cable:These cables are fitted with suitable connectors through which they are integrated into the solar system. They are mostly used outdoors and can sometimes be connected directly to a solar inverter.

2、AC connection wire

These solar cables are used to connect solar panel inverters to the grid.

Conclusion

While there are some differences between solar cables and solar wires, there are also some similarities between the two. Much of the similarity between the two elements lies in their functional domains. Another similarity is the factors to be considered in determining the dimensions of cables and wires in solar systems.
